“The sociologist will care about the issues of ultimate importance to humanity, as well as the most mundane occurrences of everyday existence” (Peter Berger 1963:24).

I am a publicly-engaged scholar and passionate teacher committed to bringing the insights of sociology to the public. I have over ten years of college teaching experience and have worked in both academic and applied settings.

My specializations include gender-based violence, inequality, social change, male allies in gender-based activism, and the scholarship of teaching  & learning. My other interests include incarceration, gender in the media, micro-sociology, and visual sociology.

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Meredith College.

My website contains selections of my scholarly work and updates about new and exciting developments. Welcome and thank you for visiting!
